This kit was a pain in the royal tush to install. Not like the old DDR1 Dominators that had a Knight Rider like beauty as they lit up at boot. In my case you barely notice the mess of wires dangling out the underside. The LEDs are very bright and very pretty. My Classified has like a 15 second period of dead silence until you hear that beep of success. When I was finally done with the operation I held my breath waiting and praying the system would post. Tall heatsinks and the fan assembly didn't leave much room for my res as it use to enjoy lots of space to move up and down. I also have a water cool system that has its rad overhead and the res directly adjacent to the ram.
In my case it was complicated by the fact that the northbridge heatsink on my Classified was in the way. Be careful not to drop any screws as I did. I couldn't get mine to fasten over as tight as I would like but it seems ok. Then you carefully loosen each screw or standoff and guide the clips over the ram and then tighten them up. There is also a 4 pin molex plug that needs to be plugged into place. I can't imagine doing this to six never mind three modules. I managed by way using needle nose pliers to guide the wire into place with another finger stabilizing the back of each module.Īfter that you have to plug the other end of each wire into the under side of the LED display cover. This requires removing the fan assembly as there are three 4pin wires that need to be plugged into each module. As part of the installation you have to mount the led hood upon the Fan assembly.

After spending two hours trying to install the AirFlow Pro LED kit onto my new Corsair 1600mhz Cas 7 Ram I am completely exhausted.
